We were exceptionally pleased with the results achieved by our Hillcrest High School Class of 2025 in the National Senior Certificate Matric Final examinations. Four of our learners achieved seven distinctions, three achieved six distinctions, four boasted five distinctions and a further five learners achieved four distinctions. Our pass rate improved as did the number of Bachelors’ passes which is evidence of the dedication of both our learners and our educators who worked hard to achieve these results.
A total of 219 candidates wrote the Matric Exams last year with 164 receiving a Bachelors’ pass and 219 distinctions, excluding Further Studies in Mathematics, achieved overall.
The Top Achievers for 2025 were Hannah King (91.6%), Micaella Hunter (88%), Ethan Ainhirn (87.5%) and Lindokuhle Nyaba (86.4%).

Hillcrest High School provides an environment that allows our young leaders to grow and mature, learning from each other and from the example of their teacher mentors. All grade 11 students have the opportunity to attend a leadership camp, and the grade 12 Student Leadership Team (SLT) attend two leadership camps in their grade 12 year. In addition, we participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme and the Global Young Leaders Conference.
Service is a cornerstone of the holistic education Hillcrest High School offers. People to People, Interact and The Margaret Turnbull Project are just a few of the community upliftment projects that the school is involved with. The Angel Fund is an internal project designed to assist the learners in the school.
